Photo blog: A winter road trip to Mount Cook

My favourite time to visit the Mount Cook region is over the winter months (June-Aug). I always try and time my trips just after a big snowfall as the drive becomes even more spectacular as it’s transformed into a winter wonderland.

Just 3 hours from Queenstown (or a little longer if you’re like me and stop often to take photos), this is my top pick for scenic drives in the South Island.

I have put together a collection of photos from a recent visit to Mount Cook to give you an idea of what to expect for a winter road trip through Mackenzie Country.
